Testing out some COPIC markers

Over Winter Break, I had a chance to try out the few COPIC markers that my sister had bought.  She and her friend picked a strange arrangement of colors.  I inked a couple of drawings with the Deleter G-pen and #2 ink, then coloured them in with the COPICs

I also did a watercolor illustration of a miner and her canary.  I was very timid with the colors, and didnt put any vibrant darks down.  That weakened the painting, but it was a fun day watercoloring.

Architect's Sketchbook

I took a class this past semester in which we studied buildings, perspective, and practiced drafting them.  In order of drawing:

Art Rage Studio on Steam!

I picked up Art Rage when it made its Steam Software debut!  I've used it a bit on my iPad, and the desktop version doesn't feel as constrained.  Pencil felt weird (i guess it might work with watercolors), so I've been painting with the oil brush and paint roller.  Here's a multi-purpose hovercraft.

Two More Weeks

Two more weeks of classes.  We playtested the alien iPad game today.  The real work begins now.

I streamed two sketches today.  I tried Feng Zhu's multitask method.  It worked wonders.

The Green/Red Pilot

I sketched out a pilot today, and thought I'd do a color test for her.

S Class Warships

A quickie tonight, to get my mind working around that space-schmup I'm going to develop.  These spaceships are going to need some weapons, arent they... I can just hid laser lenses in that front edge xD

vacation's about to end

Summer break is about to end!  Here's a couple of sketches and WIP, that I'll be working on as school starts up again.

The first drawing was part of a live stream at livestream.com/shuandang.  Any suggestions between ustream and livestream?

iPad LiveSketch doodles

Some quick doodles on my friend's iPad during a 4th of July celebration.  It's pretty fun for random sketching.

Secret Summer Game! Project Duet

Here's a sneak peak of what I've been working on in the weeks since E3.  There isn't really a reason to be secretive, but for now, I will be anyway.  I'm one of the designated programmers on the project, so there will be a shortage of art from me, but, whenever I draw something, I'll post it up!

Rusty

Here’s a work in progress!  My drawing’s been so rusty since Fanime and E3, and this is the only good drawing from a sketch dump of bad doodles I made to get back into shape.

Attempts

Trying to make sketchbook drawings look nice.
Also trying to figure out a cost friendly phone plan (trick: there isn't one), and utterly failing at it.

Aphra

I've been playing Portal 2 since launch on the PS3.  Here's a character I drew in my notebook as I was idling in Physic's class (2011.02.06).  Ideally it would have been the Women Writer's class, as I'd be able to steal an author's name that way.  The page of notes after the drawings are on Aphra Behn.

Start with Why

I like dull colors but I'm unhappy with these.  At time's I still wonder why I draw.  Simon Sinek: Start With Why If I'm still drawing hoping for fame or profit, I'm probably doing it all wrong.  Other time's I'm fearful of drawing, afraid it'll all come out wrong.

Sketch Crawl #30 (2011.01.22) @ Los Angeles National History Museum

Met some great people at the sketch crawl.  I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!

Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku came out around the time that I had a strong focus on drawing drawing and drawing.  Video after video was released on Youtube and NicoVideo, and the popularity was hard to ignore.  Despite her excessively long hair, I took an interest in her character and have often used her as one of my hieroglyph anime characters.  Her costume is probably the one that I know best.

Back!

I'm going to post sketches.

Well, the paper is white, but I'm not going to scan, so woe to that.  I guess this camera likes adding its own mood to the image.  Back to work!
